Grecia Rodriguez Dominguez obtained a Mechanical Engineering Bachelor of Science degree from Florida International University. Rodriguez has received numerous awards and scholarships throughout her academic journey, including the Florida-Georgia Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation Award, the Association of Cuban-American Engineers Scholarship, and the Dean’s Scholarship. She also received the prestigious Outstanding Bachelor’s Graduate Award, as testament to her exceptional excellence in academics, extracurricular activities, and professional achievements. In her professional journey, Rodriguez actively participates in engineering organizations such as the Florida Engineering Society, the American Society of Civil Engineers, the Women Transportation Society, the Cuban American Association of Civil Engineers, and the Association of Cuban American Engineers. She established in 2022 the Rodriguez Dominguez Scholarship as a collaboration between the FIU Alumni Association, the FIU Honors College, the FIU College of Engineering and Computing, and the generous help of donors, providing financial support to deserving students with an interest in engineering degrees.
Recently, Rodriguez made a career switch by establishing her own company, and banding together with others, including MakeWay Construction, Luar LLC, and Consolidated Real Estate Investment Holdings, to actively contribute to the ongoing battle for betterment in addressing the housing crisis at local, state and national levels. Her company, R&R Solutions USA LLC, focuses on assisting affordable housing developers in the Miami area with their operations and projects coordination. Through her work, she has influenced affordable housing legislation in Tallahassee and has successfully contributed to the completion of affordable and workforce multifamily projects like the 200+ rental units senior housing ‘Little Abner II’, in the heart of Sweetwater, Florida.
