Eduardo “Eddie” M. Suarez, PSM, is a Professional Surveyor and Mapper with over 40 years of experience in the surveying and mapping industry. Throughout his career, Eddie has demonstrated a deep commitment to precision, professionalism, and innovation in both the public and private sectors. Eddie began his surveying journey with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) District 6, where he built a strong technical foundation serving as an Instrument Person and Crew Chief. Working extensively throughout Monroe County and the Florida Keys, he gained firsthand experience in the complexities of transportation infrastructure and coastal survey environments. His early years with FDOT laid the groundwork for a lifelong dedication to excellence in geospatial services. Following his tenure with FDOT, Eddie advanced to a leadership role as the Lead Surveyor for the Miami-DadeCounty Department of Solid Waste Management, where he oversaw critical survey operations supporting solid waste infrastructure projects. During his nearly five-year service with the County, he expanded his knowledge of municipal standards, right-of-way coordination, and interagency collaboration.

In 2004, driven by a vision to deliver high-quality, client-focused surveying services, Eddie founded Longitude Surveyors, LLC. Under his leadership, the firm has grown into one of South Florida’s most respected names in the field, offering a full spectrum of surveying and mapping services, including topographic surveys, boundary analysis, right-of-way mapping, 3D scanning, construction layout, and Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE). Longitude serves a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients and maintains strong relationships with agencies such as FDOT, Miami-Dade County, Broward County, and the Greater Miami Expressway Agency (GMX).

Eddie’s leadership is defined by his collaborative approach and ability to manage multidisciplinary teams with clarity and focus. He has successfully led projects across a wide array of sectors, including commercial, residential, and large-scale transportation and infrastructure developments, consistently ensuring that deliverables meet the highest standards of accuracy and regulatory compliance. His reputation for integrity, client satisfaction, and technical excellence has been instrumental in building long-term partnerships throughout the region. In addition to his professional practice, Eddie is deeply committed to the advancement of the surveying profession. He serves as President of the Florida Surveying and Mapping Society (FSMS) Miami Chapter, where he actively promotes industry standards, advocates for policy improvements, and supports education and outreach efforts. He is especially passionate about mentoring emerging professionals and fostering student engagement to cultivate the next generation of surveyors. Eddie’s vision, technical proficiency, and dedication to quality continue to drive the success of Longitude Surveyors. His ability to lead with both strategic foresight and hands-on expertise has positioned him as a respected figure in Florida’s surveying community.
