JOSE L. ACOSTA PE, F. ASCE

PRESIDENT

Jose L. Acosta, P.E., F. ASCE is a Vice President for Chen Moore and Associates. He has over 22 years of experience leading and designing infrastructure projects and design teams throughout South Florida. He graduated from the University of Miami with Bachelor of Science degrees in civil and architectural engineering (1999). He also holds a Master of Business Administration from Auburn University (2002). In FES, Acosta received the 2008 Young Engineer of the Year Award from the Broward Chapter of FES. He has served as a mentor and the Co-Chair for the Future City Competition held at FIU’s Engineering Campus for the last four years. He is a graduate of the FELI program in 2012 and serves on the Governance and Land Development committees for ACEC-FL. He has participated in the FES/ACEC-FL PE Days in Tallahassee every year since 2012. He is a Past-President of the Cuban American Association of Civil Engineers. He is also a Past- President of the Florida Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers, where he served nationally as a Regional Governor for Region 5 from 2006-2009. He served two terms as a member of the Industry Advisory Board (IAB) for the Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering Department at the University of Miami, chairing the group in 2012. Lastly, Mr. Acosta is a graduate of Cornerstone Class 37 of Leadership Florida.
